The news is out today that supports the longstanding belief that video marketing is one of the best forms of interactive marketing for businesses large and small. A press release from ComScore showed among other things that:
- 76.8 percent of the total U.S. Internet audience viewed online video.
- More than 147 million U.S. Internet users watched an average of 101 videos per viewer in January.
- Google Sites (Including YouTube) was on top with 6.4 billion videos viewed (a43 percent market share).
- The duration of the average online video was 3.5 minutes
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
If 3/4 of the Internet Population are watching more than 100, 3-5 minute videos per month, then I’m not aware of any other form of marketing that has the potential to be so captive. It’s both amazing to me and undeniable proof of both the relevance and need for all marketers, business owners and senior executives to seriously start focusing on video marketing as part of the interactive marketing mix.
